A postprocessor is a "translator" that converts the machining simulation performed on the computer in CAM software, into a language understood by the CNC machine and its control unit. This is most often G-code or ISO code, but there are controls that have their own language such as robots, Heidenhain has its own code, some machines in the woodworking industry have their own code (Homag Woodwop), etc.
Several hundred CNC machines are successfully run by our CAM software using postprocessors developed for them.

It is very important to understand the complexity of the issue when creating postprocessors. Generic postprocessors can work for simple three-axis milling, with additional manual corrections in G-code. Incidental "general" postprocessors have a value that is directly proportional to the price. A postprocessor backed by a support team and adaptation for all additional requirements has a price and its value.
If you have a five-axis milling machine, a lathe with two spindles and one or two turrets and a milling head, or if you have a Swiss-type machine, then there is no playing because the postprocessor protects your investment and gives you reliability and productivity.
If you have a machine park and plan to expand it, it is very important to choose a team and software solution that will guarantee that the machine works from day one at its full capacity.
